Drawings should be done in fine-line marker or other artist's ink, on Bristol Board or card-stock weight.  The drawing should be centered on 8 1/2" X 11" paper, with a 1/2" border on all sides, either vertical or horizontal orientation, signed legibly by the artist inside the drawn (7 1/2" X 10") area, at the lower right.  Artist's contact information, and an explanation of the drawing, if needed, should be on the back of the drawing.  These can be new works produced for this project, or can be something you have in your portfolio.  Drawings may be submitted at any time, but we would like to go to press with 30 or more pages by mid-October, in time for the fall festival season.  We challenge CCA members to each donate a drawing of their own, or recruit someone to do so.  Participating artists will be recognized in the completed coloring books.  Drawings can be dropped off at CCA member businesses: Florida Artists Gallery, Floral City; Glasswerx, Crystal River; Franklin-Anderson Gallery, Crystal River, or can be brought to a CCA meeting, given to any member, or dropped off at the College of Central Florida bookstore in Lecanto, addressed to Michele Wirt.  We thank the 26 artists who donated their work to the last edition, and hope that they, with others, will participate again.  Without your efforts, there is no coloring book!

We are also seeking sponsors for this project.  Contributions may be in any amount, and will be used to cover printing and distribution costs, and applied to the supported programs.  Sponsors contributing $30.00 or more will be recognized with a facsimile of their business card within the book.

Citrus Cultural Alliance is a non-profit organization formed in 2012, to create and promote partnerships among the arts, the business community, and education.  Alliance projects are designed to increase awareness, participation, and appreciation of how the arts contribute to the vitality of our communities.

We hope the coloring book will help residents and visitors learn about the arts in Citrus County, as depicted by local working artists.  For questions, email info@citrusculturalalliance.org.

4th Annual Citrus Cultural Alliance Coloring Book

Local artists are invited to join us to create a coloring book celebrating the arts and culture of Citrus County, as seen through "The Eye of the Beholder."  The books will be sold to help fund CCA's internship program and the public sculpture project, "Pedal-Powered Works of Art."  Past interns have worked at the Courthouse Museum, art galleries and studios around the county, to benefit the cultural life of Citrus County and gain hands-on experience.

Again this year, we would like the book to appeal to all ages, so artists should feel free to create drawings that showcase their individuality and talents: more intricate line work, abstract and expressive elements, or totally realistic- whatever the artist would like to do to personalize their work. Since the theme is "Art," artists could depict their particular medium; for example, by drawing a potter working at the wheel, or a painter in front of their easel.  Performing artists could recruit a visual artist to draw dancers or a scene from theater.  Scenes from Citrus County's cultural landscape also offer endless choices: a festival street scene, or a drawing of The Valerie Theater.  The book will be sold at participating businesses or through CCA, for $5.00 per copy.
